- This is a request for information only. The Social Security Administration (SSA), Office of Acquisition and Grants (OAG), in conjunction with its customer, the Office of Telecommunications and Systems Operations (OTSO), is currently performing market research on network switch port discovery and end device tracing solutions. SSA is seeking information from interested sources regarding the availability of solutions that provide this functionality. SSA currently has a business requirement to provide visibility and intelligence into what, when and where IT assets are plugged into the network. A network switch port discovery and end device tracing solution must fulfill the following requirements. Reporting/Display Information Requirements: 1. Displays switch information, including: Switch Name, Switch FQDN, Switch IP, Last Seen Time Stamp, Switch OS/Firmware Version information, Switch Uptime, Port Speed, MAC address (interfaces), Admin Status, Link Status, Port Description, Detected Device Type, VLAN Number, VLAN Name, VTP info, Port Error Counter 2. Displays current and historical connectivity information about end devices, including: Device DNS Name (FQDN), IP Address, MAC Address, Switch Slot/ Port location, Last Seen Time, Last Change Time, Notes 3. Report switch port capacity information, including: Switch Total Ports, Free Ports (not in use), Available Ports (ports not used for xx days), Last Seen Time, Last Change Time, Switch Notes 4. Store switch and end device information historically for 6 months or longer 5. Searchable fields by Switch Name, End Device Name, Port, VLAN, Last Seen/Changed 6. Export data by CSV or Excel and PDF Technical Requirements: 1. Web based GUI (for both user and administration UI) 2. Deployed using either VM OVF package (Preferred), Physical Appliance, or Software Package (MS Server Support for Software Package). Physical Appliance Requirements (if solution calls for): a. Redundant power supply and other key hardware components, b. 100/1000/10000 Ethernet support, c. 120/220v AC 3-phase support and d. Rack-mountable in standard 19" rack mounts 3. Support and process Cisco MAC Notification Traps 4. Support SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, and SNMPv3 5. Support High Availability or Fault-tolerance setup 6. Provide a geographical centralized deployment setup (non-distributed) 7. Support IPv4 and IPv6 for both management and end point/port discovery 8. Provide an open API or open database to extract switch, port, and end device information 9. Provide ability to seed network inventory from external CMDBs either through API or automated scripts. 10. LDAP or TACACS+ support for user authentication 11. Support for Virtual Server discovery and virtual switches (Cisco Nexus 1000v) 12. Support for Avaya and Nortel IP phones 13. Support for Cisco and Juniper Router and Switch manufacturers Performance Requirements: 1. Scalable for 10,000 routers and switches across a large national enterprise network 2. Scalable for 500,000+ switch ports 3. Database support for over 250,000 end devices Support Requirements: 1. Provide near 24x7x365 support services 2. Provide U.S. based support 3. Upgrades and software revision included in maintenance and support This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals. The Government will not award a contract from this announcement nor reimburse vendors for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. The Government will not accept any telephone calls requesting a bid package or solicitation since there is no bid package or solicitation. In order to protect the procurement integrity of any future procurement, if any, that may arise from this announcement, the Government will not provide a technical point of contact. In addition, the Government will not make appointments for presentations. This is a request for planning purposes only, not a commitment by the Government.
