Description
The Southern Region Contracting Office -West (Prov.) intends to award a sole source contract to Hill-Rom Inc., for the purchase of Hill-Rom headwall systems. This requirement is mission critical and necessary to support patient care in the Labor and Delivery and Post Partum wards located at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, TX. BRAC has utilized Hill-Rom headwalls systems as part of the BRAC Construction project, and BAMC has invested a substantial amount in purchase of same units. Award will be made on or about 17 March 2011, the NAICS code for this procurement is 339113 and the standard size is 500 employees. The following are the Salient Characteristics for this requirement: SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS HEADWALLS FOR POSTPARTUM UNIT BROOKE ARMY MEDICAL CENTER, DEPT. OF OBSTETRICS Made specifically for use in the hospital environment Chemically and thermally activated Heat treated and fused Tested for flame spread and toxicity Smooth and quiet operation of drawers and doors Ball bearing full extension drawer slides for full depth drawer opening and tested for weight capacity Finish will be extremely resistant to stains and surface damage Easy to clean and maintain - resistant to hospital cleaning solutions Semi-gloss shine, will not allow liquids to be readily absorbed, hard to scratch, no fingerprints, edges will not begin to peel off after long use High quality construction methods used for strength, safety and long life 7-Ply Poplar Veneer Core for greater screw holding capabilities Construction methods using dowel and mortise and tenon joiner Should be extensively tested and UL approved Burn tested Built-in safety features: three momentary contact safety circuits which interconnect to the bed. All units are wired to National Electrical Codes HI-POT tested with 1500 volts for 1.5 seconds.
