Description
synopsis J&A is attached. FedBiz Synopsis for T64 Kit Procurement The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Contracts Department, Patuxent River, MD in support of NAVAIR 4.4, Propulsion and Power, intends to negotiate a delivery order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-10-G-0007 on a sole source basis with General Electric, 1000 Western Ave, Lynn, MA 01902 for material and parts (770 kits) to upgrade the T64 Electrical Overspeed Switch mounting brackets. The Electrical Overspeed Switch is mounted on two brackets bolted to the forward and aft side of the front frame to compressor flange. The current brackets when mated with the new overspeed switch, P/N 4148T19P04, introduced in ECP 64N-13 create an interference with the airframe oil tank bracket on the CH and MH 53E aircraft. The interference is the result of a larger footprint of the new overspeed switch. The introduction of the new angle brackets eliminates the interference with the airframe oil tank bracket. Introduction of the proposed brackets does not affect adjacent configuration at the number one or three engine positions. The Government intends to procure under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. General Electric is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and the only contractor with the requisite knowledge and experience of the current T64 Overspeed system. The estimated period of performance for this acquisition is 12 months. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS; however, responsible interested parties may submit information in which they can identify interest and capability to respond to this requirement. Responses must be received by 17:00 PM Eastern Time on 17 March 2011. The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is: 336412-Aircraft Engine and Engine Parts Manufacturing. The Government reserves the right to process the procurement on a sole source basis based upon the responses received. The Government will not pay for any information received. The point of contact is T. C. Renner Jr., Contract Specialist, via E-mail: thomas.c.renner@navy.mil or by fax at (301) 757-9046.
