Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Great Lakes Region has a requirement for the Replacement of the Steam Boilers at the Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC), 326 Lorain Road, Oberlin, Ohio. The project contains, but is not limited to, the following work items: 1. Remove existing steam boilers and associated components from Boiler Room (B116), including steam and condensate lines, fuel oil lines, fuel oil filters, oil pumps, natural gas lines, regulators, exhaust flue, controls and electrical power, pressure, temperature gages, sensors, sight glass, low water cutoff, safety relief valves, vent and drain piping, complete burner gas train, control packages, and other items identified on Drawing: ZOB-D-ARTCC-M008. 2. Provide two (2) new steam boilers SB-A and SB-B and associated components including and other items identified on drawing. New boilers shall be mounted on the existing concrete pads and shall be packaged boilers with dual fuels, fire-tube wetback design with a minimum 83% efficiency. 3. Disconnect existing DDC control points and reconnect to new system. 4. Remove existing main steam supply lines and main condensate return lines in the Control Wing basement from the Boiler Room to the Automation Wing basement as shown on drawing ZOB-D-ARTCC-M009. 5. Abate approximately 300 linear feet of ACM pipe fitting insulation on the existing main steam supply lines and main condensate return lines in the Control Wing basement. Abatement is required prior to piping replacement. 6. Provide new main steam and condensate line piping, as indicated on drawing, including all required drip-legs, steam trap assemblies, and piping supports. 7. Patch and seal all penetrations with fire-stopping. All new replacement piping and flue vent shall be re-insulated. 8. Other work as required on the project drawings and in the specifications. The contractor awarded the contract must have active registration in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) before award can be made. Contractors can register at www.ccr.gov NAICS Code is 237990 This procurement is a VERY SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and certified 8(a) contractors are highly encouraged to submit a request for this project. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
