Description
Upgrade Capacity Ceiling of 79230 Cheryl-Watson (CW) MIPS to 85694, increase of 6507 MIPS. The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to purchase software proprietary to one manufacturer as set forth in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 ?Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements? As it stands, OpenTech is the only known manufacturer of the below listed software. The current software licensing ceiling for the Tape/Copy product is 79,230 Cheryl-Watson MIPS; the new ceiling requested is 85,737 Cheryl-Watson MIPS, an increase of 6,507. The requirement for additional mainframe software licensing is due to mainframe hardware upgrades. In order to support these initiatives, SSA's mainframe capacity will increase by the following Cheryl-Watson MIPS:  System 82 - increase of 1,213 Cheryl-Watson MIPS - from a z10 2097-729 to a z196 2817-721  System 83 - increase of 1,445 Cheryl-Watson MIPS - from a z10 2097-730 to a z196 2817-722  System 84 - increase of 1,213 Cheryl-Watson MIPS - from a z10 2097-729 to a z196 2817-721  System 91 - increase of 333 Cheryl-Watson MIPS - from a z10 2097-708 to a z196 2817-706  System 92 - increase of 1,627 Cheryl-Watson MIPS - from a z10 2097-706 to a z196 2817-706  System 94 - increase of 676 Cheryl-Watson MIPS - from a z10 2097-706 to a z196 2817-705 Any vendor capable of providing software that can perform the essential requirements must present electronic/written evidence of such capabilities by March 8, 2011. The evidence must include a discussion of how the software would satisfy the proposed requirements. The Government does not intend to pay for information received and does not intend to provide evaluation results to the sender. All responses must be sent to Bradley.Karbeling@ssa.gov by Tuesday, March 8, 2011 12:00pm EST.
