Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for the following: A 2-port SAS/SATA (1.5 G & 3 G) protocol analyzer/host emulator solution that meets the two requirements listed below. It must be able to analyze traffic on two SAS or SATA ports and emulate a host (SAS or SATA) on one port. Requirement 1: Protocol Analysis Capabilities for 2 SAS or SATA ports (1.5 G and 3 G) The solution must be capable of recording and analyzing traffic on two SAS or SATA ports (1.5 G and 3 G). It must be able to record, filter, display, and analyze the traffic, capable of exporting the sequential list of commands that traversed each port to a text file. Requirement 2: Host Emulation (Command Generator) for 1 SAS or SATA port The solution must have the host emulation or command generator ability for one SAS or SATA port (1.5 G and 3 G). This ability should allow a user to script a list of commands to be sent to the port. It must be able to generate all possible commands to this port including both those currently defined in the most recent SAS and SATA specifications and those commands which are not currently defined in the specifications. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed- price purchase order. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations; however, companies that believe they can fulfill the requirement may provide a written response to this notice and provide clear and unambiguous evidence to substantiate that capability. A determination by the Government whether to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competition.
