Description
DESCRIPTION: The U. S. Army Contracting Command, Rock Island (ACC-RI), on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager, Maneuver Ammunition Systems, is seeking to identify potential sources capable of delivering.38 Cal and.45 Cal rounds. The.38 Cal Ball is fired from the Colt Revolver, Smith and Wesson Revolver and the Ruger Revolver. The.45 Cal Ball is fired from the M1911A1 automatic pistol. These rounds are primarily used for military training. SPECIFICATIONS: The Top Drawings available are as follows: -Cartridge, Caliber.38, Special Ball, M41 Top Cart Drawing: 7553580 -Cartridge, Caliber.38, Special Ball, Wadcutter Top Cart Drawing: 10521459 -Cartridge, Caliber.38, Blank Special Top Cart Drawing: 12952155 -Cartridge, Caliber.45, Ball, M1911 Top Cart Drawing: 6000503 -Cartridge, Caliber.45, Ball, Wadcutter Top Cart Drawing: 10521458 -Cartridge, Caliber.45, Ball, M1911 Match Grade Top Cart Drawing: 8596136 Respondents are advised that waterproofing is a requirement of the TDPs for.38 Special Ball, M41,.45 Cal Ball M1911 and.45 Cal Ball, M1911 Match Grade. The Top Drawings will be provided upon request. Please contact the POC listed below. PLANNED ACQUISITION: A Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract, Fiscal Year (FY13) with option years for (FY14 to FY15) is contemplated. Respondents need to possess the capability to manufacture a range quantity of approximately 50,000 to 4,100,000 rounds per year, with deliveries beginning nine (9) months after contract award. Submission Information: Interested firms who feel they are capable of supplying the items listed above are invited to indicate their interest by providing the Government a brief summary of its company's capabilities, including a brief description of its facilities, personnel and past experience as it relates to the above criteria, as well as the monthly capacity to supply each of the items. Information must be submitted to Mr. Mark Stevens at the ACC-RI via email address: Mark.D.Stevens@us.army.mil (alternate POC is Mr. Greg Rice, gregory.rice4@us.army.mil). Please respond NO LATER THAN 15 days after issuance of this notice and identify ".38 Cal and.45 Cal Sources Sought/Market Research" as the subject of your response. This is a market survey for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract based on this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited. The information you provide may be utilized to develop the acquisition approach for future requirements.
