- MILITARY SEALIFT FLEET SUPPORT COMMAND intends to award a firm fixed price contract for the Regular Overhaul (ROH) and Dry-docking of the USNS SALVOR (T-ARS-52) commencing on or about 1 August, 2011 for 90 days. Work will be performed at Contractor's Facility on or about the above mentioned dates. Area of consideration is West Coast. Successful offeror(s) must possess an Agreement of Boat Repair (ABR) or Master Ship Repair Agreement (MSRA) with NAVSEA or ISO 9001 Certification in order to receive award. This ROH will include dry-docking for regulatory inspections, hull and freeboard recoat, blasting and coating of potable water and designated ballasts tanks. Major ship alterations include the replacement of the forward cargo boom with a new 10,000 LB deck crane and a new installation of sliding water tight door in the machinery spaces. Modifications to existing habitability spaces are also scheduled. Various Electronics groom and upgrades are anticipated. Propulsion system work includes new engine clutches. The Dry-dock must be certified to Military Sealift Command requirements found in COMMANDER MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND Instruction 9997.1A.
