Description
Request for Information The United States Air Force has made the decision to increase the in-house bearing inspection (Level I) and repair (Level II) of all Air Force bearings. This requirement includes support for the establishment of the capacity to perform Level I and Level II operations at OO-ALC and OC-ALC. The objective of the Air Force is to establish a state of the art bearing inspection and refurbishment facility at OO-ALC and OC-ALC. Further this requirement includes the following: • Support for the establishment of full bearing repair development, engineering support, personnel training, industry certifications, personnel job descriptions and performance plans, technical data methodology, technical process orders. • The purchasing of "best" equipment/tooling/fixtures/consumables and any other necessary items to be fully operational. • The establishment of a preventative maintenance program, calibration programs and other equipment operational processes. • The establishment of a quality system to include process conformance plans, product conformance plans, preventative action plans, corrective action plans, MRB process and all other necessary plans and programs to insure a state of the art quality system. • The use of lean manufacturing principles in the layout and design of a state of the art production facility. • The use of electronic data storage and transfer methodologies. • The support in obtaining and stocking of materials such as rollers, balls, rivets and other necessary items, to include stocking methodologies and source supply control methods. This list of requirements is not to be considered all inclusive but is sufficient for the purpose of this Request for Information (RFI).
