Description
Construction Project No. 656-CSI-002, entitled 'Expand Audiology'. This solicitation is issued as an IFB (Invitation for Bid) construction project, which is 100% SET ASIDE FOR SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) firms. All SDVOSB submitting an offer must be registered and will be verified by the Contracting Officer in the VetBiz Information pages located at http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov/. Additionally, all bidders must be CVE certified as shown on vetbiz. All bidders must also be registered on www.ccr.gov and https://orca.bpn.gov. The NAICS Code 236210, along with size standard $33.5 million applies. The procurement is entitled 'Expand Audiology' at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center, in St. Cloud Minnesota. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment required to build a new building by infilling an area on the north side of Building 29 for the project entitled 'Expand Audiology'. All work is to be performed according to industry requirements and recommended standards, and in compliance with the accompanying contract documents and federal specification sections. Work will consist of the demolition of existing designated structures, roofs, fascia, gutters, downspouts, sidewalks, concrete structures, concrete pads, and relocation of existing electric transformer and switch gear, and certain other items to prepare the area for new construction. Work will consist of excavation, fill, compaction, concrete, masonry, carpentry, insulation, electrical, communications, plumbing, sheet rocking, painting, sheet metal work, roofing, roof vents, coordination of sound booth installation, HVAC work, ducts, steel fabrication, asbestos abatement, landscaping, and all items necessary for the construction of a new infill building and it's connection to existing building. Work is to be completed in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications. There are four (4) bid alternates. Potential offerors to note the OSHA training requirements as listed in the General Requirements section. Work cannot commence until VA receives proof of required OSHA training. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will ONLY be available on the FBO website (www.fbo.gov ). Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all amendments. NO HARD COPY DOCUMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. All project information is available free of charge on the www.fbo.gov website. Contract completion time is 365 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. NO BIDDER'S MAILING LISTS ARE MAINTAINED WITH THE CONTRACTING OFFICER. The estimated dollar value for this procurement is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000.00. All questions must be submitted in writing. The solicitation will be issued on/about March 14, 2011. A pre-bid meeting/walkthrough is scheduled for March 31, 2011 at 1:00PM CT, attendance is not mandatory, but is strongly encouraged. Sealed bid opening is 2:00PM CT (local time) on April 14, 2011. Electronic and faxed bids will NOT be accepted. This project requires the bidders/contractors to secure bonding. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
