- Description
- The Mission and Installation Contracting Command - West Point is seeking companies who are interested in providing an automated warehousing solution for supplies and materials used for maintenance and repair of buildings, infrastructure, and road and grounds. The types of materials and supplies needed by various shops comprising DPW's multi-crafted facility support operation are common items used by carpenters, high and low voltage electricians, plumbers, HVAC, masons, sheet metal workers, locksmiths, painters, road and land maintenance workers, HAZMAT personnel and custodians. The magnitude of current supply is approximately $2.5 million in various locations throughout the installation and on maintenance vehicles. Background: The mission of USMA is to provide educational services to the Corps of Cadets who will graduate into service as an officer in the Unites States Army. In support of this mission, the DPW is charged with providing maintenance and repair services for approximately 1,000 buildings supporting 11,500 personnel on over 16,000 square acres to include classrooms, barracks, libraries, dining facilities, command buildings, a hospital, training facilities and also maintenance of the installation's Power Plant and multiple water and wastewater treatment plants. The DPW is a government run organization with its own supply branch in charge of ordering and issuing supply to various shops for work to be done throughout the installation. Each shop also carries its own stock of supply based on the shops mission. The MICC-West Point and the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) invites industry representatives to attend a meeting at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY on February 17, 2011 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. The location is 681 Hardee Place, First Floor, West Point, NY 10996. Parking is available at this location. Driver must have a valid driver's license and all occupants a picture identification. This will be an open forum with industry for the government to learn about an automated warehousing solution for supplies and materials, industry's ability to meet West Point needs, and any information that industry would need the government to provide in order to obtain the best automated solution. This meeting is to research the automated warehousing solution market for supplies and materials and to provide sufficient information to the government on which to base their decision making. Pamphlets or marketing documents will be accepted. Please provide at least two of each document. Be advised that one on one meetings with industry may take place with government officials after the open forum. Since this is an information gathering meeting, no answers will be provided to questions to the government which result from this meeting. If you will attend the meeting, please email your name, company's name and address, contact telephone number, and email to patti.faycrosbie@usma.edu in order to pre-register for this event.
