- Description
- Q&A Set #2 Continued: Question 9:Is it desired that all power output receptacles be Mil Spec? Answer 9:No. But they should be highly reliable in a military environment. Question 10:Do you want the unit to be expandable? (i.e. Have the capability to plug into another unit to double battery and solar capacity and double continuous power output.) Answer 10:Expandability would be desirable. Question 11: Will shipping be the responsibility of the contractor or is the USMC going to provide shipping to overseas locations from the U.S.? Answer 11:Contractor shipment to CONUS locations (I.E. Dover, DE), then Government would take care of shipment from there. Question 12:Since Lithium Batteries are classified for shipping as a Class 9 Dangerous Good. Is there any special protocol that the USMC has in place for shipping these types of items that should be adhered to when packaging the unit for shipment? (Typically we would go off of international shipping regulations such as IATA, DOT or UN standards.) Answer 12:We would like industry to address any special provisions and conditions as it would relate to safety and transportation aspects of their notional solutions.
