- Description
- The 642 Combat Sustainment Group Contracting Office at Robins AFB, Georgia has a requirement for U-30 Tow Tractors, NSN: 1740-01-367-9485YW (this is a generic NSN for solicitation purposes only). The primary intended use of the U-30 Tow Tractor is to tow C-5 and C-17 military aircraft on US Air Force installations. It shall be able to tow aircraft, on dry level concrete, weighing up to 850,000 pounds with a minmum Drawbar Pull of 72,000 pounds. The Government intends to award a six-year, firm-fixed price, requirements-type contract. The RFP and resultant contract will be structured with one basic contract period of 24 months and four annual option periods. A preproduction unit will be required (subject to verification tests in accordance with the Commercial Item Description that will be included in the RFP package). Verification tests will be identified in the test procedures and the test/inspection report the successful offeror shall prepare for Government approval. This requirement will also include data such as technical manuals, service bulletins, and instructional media packages. The total best estimated quantity (BEQ) is 72, with an estimated 24 units (including the preproduction unit) being ordered during the basic contract period, and an estimated 12 units ordered per each of the option periods. Destinations for these units will be CONUS and OCONUS Air Force installations. FAR Part 12 and 15 procedures will be utilized. Offerors shall prepare their proposals in accordance with mandatory and detailed instructions contained in the RFP. The Government will utilize the Performance Price Trade-Off (PPT) procedures, and will evaluate proposals and make award in accordance with the Evaluation Basis for Award Provision in the RFP. It is anticipated the RFP will be released on or around 27 July 2010. The RFP will be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities webpage. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. This acquisition will be 100% set aside for small businesses.
