Description
RFP specifications project schedule Drawings The Smithsonian Institution, National Postal Museum (SI/NPM) seeks to obtain museum quality display cases that contain banks of pull out frames to display highly valuable stamps and letters. Drawings for the work are produced by e xhibit designers Gallagher and Associates. These drawings are concept plans only and are not final engineered drawings for construction. The display banks will be placed throughout the Museum galleries. The selected Contractor will work with SI/NPM staff to develop engineered drawings for production of one prototype display bank for testing and aesthetic review, followed by final engineered drawings, manufacturing, shipping, and installation of the display banks and pull out frames at the National Postal Museum. The completed banks and pull out frames must be delivered and installed in the National Postal Museum, 2 Massachusetts Avenue NE in Washington, DC no later than August 31, 2012. The vendor must be able to provide a warranty of ten years on the banks and pull out frames, and the ability to negotiate long term maintenance agreements beyond the warranty period. The display banks are to be constructed of steel framing with sliding mechanisms. The larger size units will have lockable storage cabinets within the lower portion of the units.
