Description

THIS IS A TOTAL 100% SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) SET-ASIDE. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) Iowa intends to issue an Invitation For Bid (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract to provide all tools, materials, equipment and labor necessary for completion of general construction project 636A8-11-003, 'Renovate Basement Blood Draw', at the Iowa City VA Medical Center, Iowa City, Iowa, in accordance with the drawings and specifications. This project will renovate approximately 4,600 square feet of existing space on the basement level of Building 1 into new blood draw units and involves all work necessary to prepare site for installation of government furnished and installed blood draw equipment. Work will be done in 2 phases and includes architectural, mechanical, and electrical demolition, general construction, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and controls work, and certain other items. Work is to be completed within 300 calendar days from the notice to proceed. Specifications and Drawings for submitting a bid will be available at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All respondents must be registered in the CCR database (http://www.ccr.gov) and complete online Representations and Certifications at (http://orca.bpn.gov), along with Vets 100 at (http://vets.dol.gov/vets100/). Bidders must be registered in VetBiz at (http://www.vetbiz.gov/). Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All parties must obtain amendments to the solicitation through this web site. Hard copies will not be mailed. Interested parties must go to the web site to be entered on the Interested Vendors List and/or to obtain copies of the Interested Vendors List. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to (allison.bacon2@va.gov). Issue Date is tentatively scheduled for February 15, 2011. The Pre-bid meeting/Site-visit will be announced upon Solicitation issuance. Bid Opening Date is tentatively scheduled for March 17, 2011, at 2:00 P.M. (local time), in Bldg. #21, Room #1B03f at the Iowa City VAMC, Iowa City, IA, but exact date may vary depending on issuance of the solicitation. The applicable NAICS Code is 236220, with the applicable size standard being $33.5 million. Cost range is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00.
