Description
Solicitation - Repair Concrete at Gate 5A Warehouse PURPOSE OF PROCUREMENT This scope of work is intended to repair concrete failures on selected security light pole bases and along the loading dock walls of the 5A warehouse (Bldg 813). The subcontract number assigned to this solicitation is WA-FY11-AR-612 and must be added to the Description section of your liability insurance certificate. Contractor is to provide labor, materials and equipment necessary to repair failed concrete on light pole base finish and repair cracks and damage to loading dock retaining walls. SCOPE OF WORK Light Pole Bases The finish coating has failed on three (3) light pole bases located in the back laydown yard of the 5A Warehouse. Repairs are intended to restore the light pole bases to original finish and include: •§ Complete removal of finish grout •§ Recondition and prep of concrete for overcoat (peen or score as required) •§ Apply a sealant/bonding coat •§ Re-apply finish coat (form and pour as required) Loading Dock Walls The retaining walls at the loading dock are cracking and spalling due to rainwater infiltration at the handrail post bases. Handrails are deeply corroded at the bases and post base sealing has failed. The repairs required at the walls include the following: •§ Wire brush and prime handrail post bases (23 locations) •§ Flood and seal bases to prevent further infiltration of water into the concrete walls (polyurethane - self leveling suggested) •§ Seal existing cracks at and near or post bases (15 - 20 locations) •§ Repair spalled dock wall at outer end of the north wall (apply grouted dowels, form, re-pour and reset handrail) •§ Prep and seal asphalt/concrete interface along the outsides of each dock wall (2 each at 60') •§ Prep and seal other areas around loading dock to prevent water infiltration behind dock retaining walls (all 3) Specific products and application methods provided by the contractor shall be approved by WA Engineering prior to use or implementation. There shall be no deviation from the original scope except as allowed through ANCDF Subcontracts and Engineering as required depending on the changes being recommended. Contractor(s) will participate in the pre-job briefings to ensure that good communications are established with ANCDF Subcontracts, Engineering and Maintenance departments before any work begins. Extreme caution shall be taken to ensure that unplanned outages will not occur. Contractor(s) shall be responsible for development of the JSA for review and approval prior to commencement of work.
