Description
RFI Updated as of Amendment 2 Questions and Answers on base RFI UPDATE 2 (January 24, 2011): The Govenrment has published questions from industry with the Government response, as well as an updated version of the RFI document using "track changes" to illustrate changes made as a result of the questions. UPDATE 1 (January 19, 2011): The due date and time for responses to this RFI has been extended to February 18, 2011 at 2:00 pm Eastern Time. The Government has received several questions concerning this RFI and expects to publish responses within the next few days. ORIGINAL NOTICE: This Request for Information (RFI) for third-party disaster recovery services is for informational and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a solicitation or a commitment to issue a solicitation. It is issued for the purpose of: • Conducting market research in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10, to determine common and customary industry practices • Determining industry capabilities, including those of small businesses, to meet the Federal Student Aid's requirement • Allowing industry an opportunity to provide comments concerning this requirement, and assisting Federal Student Aid in determining the appropriate acquisition strategy • Assisting Federal Student Aid in determining the number of potential respondents capable and interested in providing third-party Disaster Recovery support. • Obtaining information in order to evaluate Disaster Recovery models of service delivery available to Federal Student Aid.
