Description
Notice of Intent to award sole source contract. This is not a solicitation. Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 1 518/90C VAMC Bedford) intends to solicit, negotiate and award a contract for scientific research and data services in support of Gulf War Veterans Illnesses. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Research Advisory Committee on Gulf War Veterans' Illnesses shall provide advice and make recommendations to the Secretary of Veterans Affairs on proposed research plans and strategies related to understanding and treating the health consequences of military service in the Southwest Asia theater of operations during the 1990-1991 Gulf War (Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm). The proposed Awardee is: Boston University, School of Public Health, 1 Silber Way, Boston, MA 02115-1390. (DUNS 049435266, Cage Code 3A817). Boston University is an affiliate partner with the RAC on Gulf War Veterans's Illness study/project since 2008. This is a Congressional mandate, the committee was established in compliance with statutory instructions contained in § 104 of Public Law 105-368. This award is a firm-fixed price (FFP) contract with a period of performance from date of award to September 30, 2015. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302-1 Only one responsible source. This notice contains information current through FAC2005-45. The NAICS is 611310.
