VA-797-11-RI-0047 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) FOR STERILIZATION (CSR) WRAP RFI closes January 28, 2011, 4:00 pm Central Standard Time The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Acquisition Center (NAC) intends to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Sterilization (CSR) Wrap. VA NAC wishes to learn if there are customary commercial practices in the market place regarding the specifications and packaging of Sterilization (CSR) Wrap items. This is an effort to ensure the specifications are not overly restrictive or unreasonable. Please submit any suggestions, questions, comments on specifications; and/or information, including product literature/brochures describing your firm's ability interest to provide these items. STERILIZATION (CSR) WRAP Intended Use: CSR Wrap is used to package medical/surgical devices for sterilization and maintenance of sterility 1. Non-woven fabric 2. Barrier Effectiveness for Fluids: meets ASTM F1670-03 3. Barrier Effectiveness for Blood-Borne Pathogens: meets ASTM F1671-03 4. Durability (Trapezoidal Tear Test): meets INDA IST 100.2 5. Low Linting: meets ASTM F50-83 or Gelbo Flex Linting Test, INDA IST 160.1 6. Strength (Tensile Strength): meets ASTM D5034 7. Allows for penetration of sterilization process from Steam, ETO and Plasma Gas 8. Single sheet for sequential, not double wrapping 9. Available sizes must include: 24" x 24"; 36" x 36"; 45" x 45"; 48" x 48" and 54" x 54" (plus or minus 0.5 inch). IPT will evaluate 24" x 24"; 36" x 36" and 54" x 54" sizes by measuring them to ensure they meet size tolerances 10. Must have light, medium or heavy duty strengths based on industry standards by sizes
