- Description
- The OCC intends to issue a solicitation from this RFI within the next week. The synopsis is as follows: The OCC seeks to acquire support services for the collection, aggregation, storage, and reporting analytics of the loan level Mortgage and Home Equity data for the OCC's Large Bank Supervision Division (LBS). The collection will be based on nine (9) Large National Banks and will include both Origination and Servicing information. For the purpose of this contract, any reference to "Banks" means the (9) Large National Banks participating in the data collection. The scope of the procurement is to provide services for the collection, aggregation, storage, and reporting analytics of the Mortgage and Home Equity data on the behalf of the OCC Large Bank Supervision Division. This includes existing data sets currently collected by a third-party aggregator as well as expanding the data collection and services to include Origination data. OCC currently collects comprehensive Mortgage and Home Equity from (9) of the largest national banks based on standard data and definitions on a monthly basis. Comprehensive mortgage and home equity data is vital to assessing and monitoring credit quality and loss mitigation activities in the residential mortgage market and the national banking system. This data is important and necessary to support supervisory activities to ensure the safety and soundness of the national banking system. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) charters, regulates, and supervises all United States national banks. The OCC also supervises the federal branches and agencies of foreign banks. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the OCC has four district offices plus an office in London to supervise the international activities of national banks. Bank supervision is the core activity of the agency; bank examiners comprise the majority of the approximately 2,800 employees. The OCC was established in 1863 as a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The Comptroller is the chief executive of the OCC. The President appoints the Comptroller for a five-year term with the advice and consent of the Senate. The Comptroller also serves as a director of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and a director of the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation. The OCC's nationwide staff of examiners conducts on-site reviews of national banks and provides sustained supervision of bank operations. The agency issues rules, legal interpretations, and corporate decisions concerning banking, bank investments, bank community development activities, and other aspects of bank operations.
