- VA-797-11-RI-0038 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) FOR BLANKET/PAD, HYPO/HYPERTHERMIA, DISPOSABLE RFI closes January 25, 2011, 4:00 pm Central Standard Time The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Acquisition Center (NAC) intends to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Blanket/Pad, Hypo/Hyperthermia, Disposable. VA NAC wishes to learn if there are customary commercial practices in the market place regarding the specifications and packaging of Blanket/Pad, Hypo/Hyperthermia, Disposable items. This is an effort to ensure the specifications are not overly restrictive or unreasonable. Please submit any suggestions, questions, comments on specifications; and/or information, including product literature/brochures describing your firm's ability interest to provide these items. BLANKET/PAD, HYPO/HYPERTHERMIA, DISPOSABLE Intended Use: A blanket for patients who need to have body temperature regulated (heated or cooled). 1. Disposable Single Patient Use 2. Variable surface to include 24" x at least 30" and 24" x at least 60" 3. Water Driven Reservoir for circulating heated or cooled water 4. Blanket/Pad to be latex free 5. Must include manufacturer's cleaning instructions 6. Must have adapter(s) with the capability to connect the blanket to most brands of water circulating hypo/hyperthermia machines. (Are universal adapters available? Are there temperature probes that go with the machine?) 7. Must have a leak-free secure connection from blanket to machine 8. Must come with clamps that are used when blanket/pad is disconnected from machine to prevent water leaking into the environment. 9. Blanket/pad must remain pliable when using coldest temperature setting..
