Description

The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) intends to make a sole source award to T.W. Storage for the procurement for Index Engines LAN Manager license and two 2U appliance upgrades for the network backup and production environment at PBGC. The period of performance will be twelve months. This is a brand name sole-source procurement. Only Index Engines makes the appliances. The LAN license, which only Index Engines can grant, will allow Index Engines to index all objects in the network environment, as opposed to indexing only current and legacy back-up tapes. This product is the only one of its kind, and no other entity can license or upgrade its technology except Index Engines. This is not a Request for Quote (RFQ), but a Notice of Intent. No RFQ will be issued. Interested parties may, however, request further information (no later than 9 AM Jan 6, 2011) by email to Contract Specialist (Lawrence Durden) at durden.lawrence@pbgc.gov.
