Description
THIS IS AN INFORMATIONAL NOTICE ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER THE PROGRAM SUPPORT (PSC) TASK ORDERS. The purpose of this program is to maintain a comprehensive understanding and awareness of current and impending innovations and technology trends related to health information technology (HIT). An increasingly vibrant industry is developing a range of innovative technological approaches. Some of these will quickly disappear from the marketplace; others will precipitate modest changes; a few will have revolutionary impact. One thing in this field is certain: the technology of 2015 will be very different from that available today. With the Federal government making multi-billion dollar investments supporting health technology, it is imperative that programs and policies align with and take full advantage of technological advancement. This program will facilitate information exchange between the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), key subject-matter experts, and HIT innovators and developers. This exchange will furnish ONC and other HHS agencies, including CMS and AHRQ, with continual updates on the development of the most promising HIT innovations that may support the achievement of meaningful use and the adoption of health IT, as well as key programmatic efforts that will be affected by technological advances. This exchange will enable the systematic identification of HIT innovations addressing areas of care delivery where critical problems are not being addressed as well as the early identification of emerging, breakthrough advances that may shape policy and technology initiatives.
