- Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Competition for Lease Location The Department of Veterans Affairs, Readjustment Counseling Service (RCS) is seeking up to 3250 net usable square feet of space for the new Columbus, GA Vet Center which will provide mental health services. VA is conducting a competition for space and will locate the clinic in the most advantageous location for the Government. First class office/clinic space is required. The space must be on the first floor. It must have convenient access from main thoroughfare with adequate parking of approximately 25 on-site parking spaces. Five (5) of which are marked as handicapped reserved for VA use. All space must be handicapped accessible in accordance with the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (41 CFR 101-19.6, App. A). Occupancy is required by August 2011. A lease for up to 10 years will be considered. To be considered the property/space must be in Columbus, Georgia within or bordering a delineated area as follows: North: I-80 Moon Road East: Shatulga Road West: Veterans Parkway South: I-185 Manchester Expressway Offers must provide evidence that properties are outside the 100 year flood plain. VA staff will conduct a market survey of properties offered for lease. Please provide the following in your package: 1) Site location (physical location of property); 2) Property description; 3) Total square footage; 4) Site condition; 5) Floor plans; 6) Pictures if available. Interested offerors (owners, brokers or their legal representatives) should submit specific information concerning their properties to Tommy L. The Government is limited by law (40 USC 278a, as Amended 10-1-81) to pay no more than the appraised fair rental value for space.
