Description
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service intends to solicit proposals for a firm fixed price construction contract for various facility improvements at the Izembek National Wildlife Refuge, located in Cold Bay, Alaska. For information about Cold Bay, Alaska and the Izembek National Wildlife Refuge, visit: http://www.fws.gov/refuges/profiles/index.cfm?id=74520 Project Title: Izembek Facilities Improvements Project Description: The scope of work is comprised of the following components:Base Items:-Remodel three residential bathrooms.-Repair and reinsulate foundation walls at one existing residence.-Replace basement windows at one residence-Remove and replace exterior wooden window trim elements at bunkhouse Optional Items: -Repair and reinsulate foundation walls at two residences.-Replace exterior door locks and flooring at existing Headquarters building. This includes demolishing existing interior flooring and wood framed ramp, as well as installing marmoleum composition tile, carpet, and cove base.-Upgrade electrical receptables in bathrooms, including the installation of GFI outlets.-Install new light fixtures and exhaust fans, includes installing vanity fixtures and ceiling mounted fans in bathrooms with separate switches.-Paint interior of the bunkhouse, includes primer and two coats of latex paint. Schedule: Work is to be performed Spring/Summer 2011. Type of procurement: A firm-fixed price contract will be awarded using a Lowest Price Technically Accpetable Source Selection Process, requiring the submission of both a technical and price proposal. Estimated price range: The estimated magnitude of construction project is between $250,000 and $500,000 with the exclusion of all optional items and between $500,000 and $1,000,000 with the inclusion of all optional items. Set-Aside: This procurement is 100% set aside for certified HubZone small business concerns under NAICS code 236118. The anticipated solicitation issue date is on or about January 3, 2011 via Federal Business Opportunities (www.fbo.gov).
