- Description
- NASA/SSC plans to issue a Best Value Request for Proposal (RFP) for the projectentitled: Replace B-Test Stand Level 20 Work Deck at Stennis Space Center Mississippi. The work to be performed under this project consists of providing all labor, materials,tools and equipment to replace the B-Test Stand 1/8 inch thick carbon steel diamondpattern decking with a new deck system. The area where the work is to be performed islocated approximately 290-feet above ground level. The Contractor shall adhere to thelatest version of 29 CFR 1910, Subpart D, Walking/Working surfaces; 29 CFR 1926, SubpartM, Fall Protection. In addition to these safety requirements, the solicitation willfurther define the requirements which the Contractor shall also adhere regardingadditional safety requirements and the requirements for submitting a safety plan. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000, and theeffort shall be completed within one hundred eighty (180) calendar days after receipt ofthe notice to proceed. The proposed contract is issued unrestricted, as a result, all qualified responsiblesources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 237990 and $33.5million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about December 21, 2010, with ananticipated bid closing date of on or about January 25, 2011. The firm date for receiptof bids or offers will be stated in the RFP. Offerors are urged and expected to inspect the site where the work will be performed. Anorganized site visit has been scheduled for January 05, 2011, at 9 AM.Participants willmeet at the Gainesville Conference Room, Building 1100 at Stennis Space Center, MS.
