- Description
- NOAA's Marine Engineering Division has a requirement for dry dock repairs to the NOAA ship Hi' Ialakai. The contractor shall provide all facilities, supervision, material, and labor necessary to perform modifications, repairs, and preservation to the NOAA ship Hi' Ialakai. The mooring and dry docking shall be accomplished at the contractor's facility. Performance of work is tentatively scheduled to begin in early November 2010 and be completed in early Jaunary 2011, with specific period of performance dates to be announced at the time of the issuance of the solicitation. This notice is being published pending the availability of FY 11 funds. This procurement is a 100% small business set-aside. The NAICS code for this procurement is 336611 and the size standard is 1,000 employees. The work consists of approximately 10 basic items, and 5 option items, any of which are subject to change at the Government's discretion upon issuance of the solicitation. BASIC REQUIREMENTS may include, but are not limited to: General Requirements for Work and Temporary Services; Provide Underwater Body Inspection; Paint Underwater Body; Accomplish Dry Docking and Undocking; Zinc Replacement; Stern Tube Lube Oil Piping Replacement; Transducer Fairing Access Panel Removal & Modification; Repairs to Ballast Tank; Utilities and Service Basic Contract; Protective Coverings; and Weight Control. OPTION REQUIREMENTS may include, but are not limited to: Utilities and Services Daily Rate; Provide Drydock Lay Days; Polish Propeller; Recoat the 86 Ballast Tanks; and Additional Government Requirements. General Vessel specifications: Length (LOA): 224 ft.; Breadth 43 ft.; Draft 15.0 ft.; and Displacement: 1,489 tons light ship. It is anticipated the vessel will be available for pre-bid inspection at Ford Island, Honolulu, HI on September 30, 2010 to October 5, 2010. A pre-bid inspection can be arranged 2-3 days prior to your visit by contacting the Contract Specialist at the e-mail address provided below. All responsible and fully responsive sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the Agency. Any resulting contract will be awarded as a firm-fixed price contract. Solicitation documents will be made available for download on or around September 24, 2010 at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be issued.
