Description
Princeton University Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) operating under a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Prime Contract is seeking a qualified firm to purchase and remove from PPPL's C-Site, James Forrestal Campus, U.S. Route No. 1 north, Plainsboro, NJ three large Pulse Motor Generator (MG) Storage Sets; a smaller MG Set and numerous auxiliary and other items of equipment. Equipment to be removed is located on two levels (ground level and basement). A picture of the ground level site; a drawing of each level and listing of equipment to be removed; and the Statement of Work (that includes a complete listing of equipment to be removed, pictures and drawings) that will be included in the removal RFP may be viewed now on PPPL's web page at http://www.pppl.gov/, under Procurement Opportunities, then 2. Procurement Opportunities, C-Site MG Removal. The estimated weight of the equipment to be removed is about 5,000 tons including about 150 tons of copper. Removal of equipment to begin on/about Monday 21 February 2011, de-energization, lockout and tagout of electrical and mechanical systems will have been completed. Removal is to be completed on or before 30 September 2011. The method of equipment disassembly is at the Option of the Buyer, but must not jeopardize the building or other equipment/systems in the building. This announcement is not an RFP but a Sources Sought request. RFP 11-010F will be posted on the PPPL web page identified above by Monday 6 December 2010. A Pre-Proposal Conference if scheduled for 0930 Tuesday 14 December. In addition to a review of the RFP requirements the agenda includes a visit to the proposed Job site. Follow-on visits will be permitted. The projected Proposal due date is Thursday 13 January 2011. Send statements of interest to Larry L. Sutton lsutton@pppl.gov.
