- The Naval Medical Logistics Command intends to negotiate on a sole source basis (IAWFAR 13.106-1) with Maquet, 45 Barbour Pond Dr, Wayne, NJ 07470, as the only responsible source that can provide an Surgical Ceiling Light for operational surgical platforms. This acquisition is being conducted under the FAR 13.5 test procedures for commercial items. Provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-24 are incorporated. The USS New York has a need for a Surgical Ceiling Lighting system. The system shall FDA approved surgical lights are needed for optimal visualization of surgical site of a patient. The surgical light shall have at minimum two light heads. The surgical light shall have a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of at minimum 90. The unit shall have a halogen light source and at minimum of 1000 hour bulb life expectancy. The surgical light color temperature shall be in the range of 3300-3500 K. The illumination level of the surgical light shall not exceed 100000 lux at 1 m. The surgical light shall be ceiling mounted. The surgical light shall have a fixed focus, and an adjustable field size. The unit shall be able to rotate 360 degrees around the axial. The unit shall have a vertical adjustment range of at minimum 110 cm (43 in.). The surgical light shall have a heat filtering percentage of ‰¥ 95%. The surgical light shall be ‰¤30 kg (66 lb). The unit shall have a prism based lens technology for high shadow control. The surgical light shall consume ‰¤110 Watts power. The illuminating surface area shall be at minimum 1200 cm2. The surgical light shall be able to interface with the existing foundation/infrastructure of the ship. The electrical requirements are 120 Volts, 4 Amps, and 50-60 Hz. Items being purchased in this acquisition: PRX 4001 SAX SF T, Surgical Light package This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 334510 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. All capability statements received by closing of this notification of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Based on the above information, the only technically acceptable system is provided by Maquet, Inc.
