Description
The Department of Interiors Acquisition Services Directorate (AQD) in Herndon, Virginia, is scheduled to issue a Request for Quote on behalf of the United States Park Police in Washington, D. C., on November 18, 2010. The Park Police has a need for one, 20-foot long freightliner diesel step van, furnished with commercially available food storage and preparation appliances installed, which it will use as a mobile canteen. The procurement will be conducted using FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The anticipated award will be a firm, fixed-price purchase order. The associated North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) Code for this procurement is 336112-Chassis, light truck and utility, manufacturing. The Park Police requires that the contractor's assembly and repair garage be located within 300 air miles of Washington, D. C., so that Park Police representatives will be able to efficiently and cost effectively return the vehicle whenever maintenance or repair service is needed. Regardless of the state where the vehicle is manufactured, outfitted and will be repaired and maintained, the end product and later maintenance and repairs must comply with State of Virginia safety standards. The distance requirement is a "go/no go" evaluation factor that will be applied in the preliminary screening of offers by the contracting officer, before quotes are submitted to a Park Police proposal evaluation team (which will then apply the evaluation factors on only the fully responsive offers that remained eligible after the "first cut").. Interested potential offerors are invited to request a copy of the solicitation by email through corey.gerst@aqd.nbc.gov. No inquiries relating to the solicitation or the requirement will be entertained prior to solicitation issuance. After the solicitation is issued, amendments to it (including replies to questions and requests for clarification) will be distributed by email to all parties known to the contracting office to be interested, and concurrently, will also be publically available on the internet via the AQD website: http://www.aqd.nbc.gov/Business/solicitations.aspx under RFQ number D11PS18820. The closing date by which AQD must have received quotes and the deadline date for submitting questions and requests for clarifications will be published in the solicitation document.
