Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. ERDC Contracting Office intends to solicit sources and pricing under the authority of FAR 13.500 for 1 THERMAL CYCLER W/FOUR 96-WELL BLOCK. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures --- only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than Friday, 19 November 2010 - 11:00 A.M., CDST. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. Interested parties may submit quotes for consideration by the Government to deberay.r.carmichael@usace.army.mil. Please use solicitation number referenced in the subject line. ERDC EL requires means to conduct PCT which amplifies DNA in order to successfully identify DNA markers of invasive species. To enable this amplification, the EL requires a Thermal Cycler with four independent thermal cycling bays equipped with 96-well blocks that are interchangeable with 384-well blocks and dual block formats and shold have the capability of running up to eight independent protocols at once. This technology will be used to rapidly amplify DNA while greatly increasing the quantity and quality of data used to identify invasive species. The system should be compact. These studies are required for ongoing civilian and reimbursable work units that focus on the early detection of invasive species from waterways. Please include applicable shipping in pricing.
