- The following information is being posted in anticipation of a solicitation. The requirement will be for one fully operational horizontal loading vacuum furnance. The following synopsis notes are being provided to interested parties. 1. Estimated issue date is 29 Nov 2010 and will close 13 Jan 2011. 2. RFQ# - FA8126-11-Q-0012 3. PR# - F3YCHS0266A001 4. Description: Heat Treat Steel Cell Ph - 2 Vacuum Furnace Design: The furnace systems (and associated equipment) shall be one of the manufacturer's current models, new and unused. The system design and construction shall include all parts, components, and features necessary to provide high-temperature, high-vacuum capability, and be as energy efficient as modern construction methods allow. The furnace systems shall be complete so that when installed and connected to the specified utility sources it can be used for any operation for which it was designed. The furnace shall be of the horizontal loading design. Construction in accordance with ASME BPVC-VIII shall be free from any characteristic or defect that will prevent the furnace from passing any of the examinations and tests specified in Section 4.0. The design shall be capable of continuous operating of three shifts 6 days a week, at least, ten (10) years of operation. Turnkey Installation: A complete turnkey installation shall be provided by the contractor. The contractor shall have at least 5 years of experience with large vacuum furnaces comparable to size being requested. The furnace shall be installed in the heat treat facility, building 9001. The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for installation of the furnace at TAFB. The contractor shall also be ISO9001 Certified, Nadcap certified, ANAB, and BOEING certified. Size: The contractor shall provide (1) one Furnace with a workload envelope of 60" diameter X 120"deep. Furnace Process Requirements: The furnace shall be designed for operation with a load of 5000 pounds at 2450 F and have 6 Bar gas quench pressure capability.
