- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone concerns, Service-Disable Veteran-Owned Small Business concerns (SDVOSB) concerns, or for Small Businesses. The small business size standard is 1,000 employees, the NAICS Code is 336611. The acquisition is for Seal Assembly, Stern Tube and Seal Assembly, Bulkhead in support of 65 & 75 foot Coast Guard vessels. All parts shall be new. All items shall be delivered within 60 calendar days from issuance of the contract. Delivery shall be F.O.B. Destination to U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center, Baltimore, MD 21226-5000. The Coast Guard intends to award a fixed-price contract resulting from the solicitation. It is the Government's belief that only Wartsila Defense, Inc., the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), and/or their authorized distributors, can furnish the required parts and ensure the proper form, fit and function of all its components. Therefore it is the Government's intent to solicit only Wartsila Defense, Inc. and/or their authorized distributors. In accordance with FAR 19.1305, if your firm is HUB Zone certified or a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please respond by email to ronald.almond @uscg.mil and include: (a) a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and telephone numbers; (c) past performance references with points of contact and telephone numbers. At least two references are requested, but more are desirable. Your response is required by 12 November 2010 at 5:00 pm EST. Contractors are reminded that should this acquisition become a HUB Zone set-aside, FAR 52.219-3, Notice of Total HUB Zone Set-Aside will apply which requires that at least 50 percent of the cost of personnel for contract performance be spent for employees of the concern. Contractors are also reminded that should this acquisition become a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Set-Aside, FAR 52.219-27, Notice of Total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Set-Aside will apply which requires that at least 50 percent of the cost of personnel for contract performance be spent for employees of the concern. All of the above information must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HUB Zone, Service disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Set-Aside or Small Business Set-Aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUB Zone or SDVOSB Set-Aside, or Small Business Set-Aside will be posted in the FedBizOpps website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov.
