- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is soliciting quotes for Phase II Testing and Evaluation of Archeological Site at Montevideo, Minnesota. Solicitation number W912ES-11-T-0010 is issued as small business set-aside. The work will be done in accordance with the scope of work. Item Number 0001 is Cultural Resource Testing and Evaluation of Archeological site 21CP28, City of Montevideo, Chippewa County, Minnesota. The contractor shall conduct archeological testing at archeological site 21CP68 located near the Minnesota River at the city of Montevideo, Chippewa County, Minnesota. Field work will include excavation of formal test units to determine the integrity, content, and horizontal extent of the prehistoric deposits at 50 to 100 cm below the ground surface. Soils are Du Page loam and Calco silty clay loam. Field work will be used to evaluate whether the prehistoric component of this prehistoric and historic archeological site is eligible to the National Register of Historic Places. The contractor will need to obtain an archeological license from the Minnesota State Archaeologist. Key contractor personnel must meet the Secretary of the Interiors professional qualification standards for prehistoric archeologists, historic archeologists, and historians. Period of Performance is 22 November 2010 through 5 July 2011. The contract will be a Firm-Fixed Price Contract. The associated NAICS code is 541720 with a size standard of $7,000,000.00. Offeror must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry located at www.ccr.gov prior to contract award. A determination by the government to not award based on the responses to this solicitation is solely within the discretion of the government.
