- SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS FOR Flotation Equipment Deployment System (FEDS) C-17 Cargo Aircraft Department of the Air Force, Air Force Materiel Command, OO-ALC/GHGKA PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION This is a Source Sought Synopsis announcement, market research for information only, to be used for preliminary planning purposes. This market research is being conducted to identify potential sources possessing the engineering and manufacturing knowledge for the FEDS consisting of two forward and two aft panel assemblies used on the C-17 Aircraft. The panel assemblies consist of linear charge assemblies (LCA) and are functioned when an explosive signal is transferred from any one of the aircraft arm/fire initiators to the panel assembly via Shielded Mild Detonating Cord (SMDC). The LCA's detonate, producing a jet penetration cutting action of the aircraft skin/longerons providing hatches for life raft deployment and aircrew escape. No proposal is requested or accepted from synopsis. This is not a solicitation for proposal and no contract shall be awarded from this synopsis. The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command, OO-ALC/GHGKA, Hill AFB is conducting a market survey for the following requirements. National Stock Number Part Number 1377-01-487-1952ES 827843-01 1377-01-486-6045ES 827843-02 1377-01-486-9700ES 827844-01 1377-01-487-0148ES 827844-02 INSTRUCTION Provide relevant experience to include performing engineering, manufacturing, inspection, and testing of similar assemblies in the last 5 years. Company Profile will include the following: A. Number of employees. B. Office Location C. CAGE Code D. DUNS Number E. Small Business designation/status claimed No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow up information requests. The Government has very limited technical data to provide to potential offerors. Offerors must possess access to all appropriate data. Pacific Scientific Energetic Materials Company (PSEMC), Hollister, CA has the capability and drawings for the FEDS panel assemblies and the government does not own or have the rights to use the data required to manufacture this device. Interested offerors shall respond to this Source Sought Synopsis no later than 3:00 PM 17 November 2010.
