- Description
- The Naval Sea Systems Command will be hosting an Industry Day to discuss the Navy ™s recapitalization of its organic ocean towing, rescue, and salvage capabilities. The Navy requires ocean going tug, salvage, and rescue capabilities to support US Navy Fleet operations. The existing Fleet Ocean Tug (T-ATF) and Rescue and Salvage Ship (T-ARS) classes will reach the end of their expected service lives starting in 2020 and 2025, respectively. The Navy is currently performing market research applicable to the replacement of these ship classes in kind or via a common hull solution. The Navy will convene an Industry Day to discuss the future FY15 T-ATF and FY20 T-ARS Replacement programs, existing T-ATF and T-ARS capabilities and mission requirements, desired capabilities applicable to both classes, and potential common hull solutions to replace the existing T-ATF and T-ARS classes with a single ship class. Industry Day is scheduled to be held in conjunction with the International Workboat Show at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA, 1-2 December 2010. Two separate sessions will be held in Room 204: (1) Wednesday 1 December 2010, 1:30 PM (CT) and (2) Thursday 2 December 2010, 1:30 PM (CT). Registration for the International Workboat Show can be accomplished online at: https://web1.accureg.com/iwbs10_prod/webmain/Landing.asp?SC=1. This event is Unclassified and intended for shipyards, boat builders, craft designers, system integrators, material manufacturers and fabricators, and equipment vendors. During Industry Day there will be NO opportunities for questions or discussions between individual industry representatives and Government technical Program Office representatives. The Government will, however, provide index cards to industry partners in attendance to document questions that arise during the conference. The Government will collect ALL index cards prior to the conclusion of Industry Day. In addition, electronic mail questions received prior to the close of business 17 December 2010 will be accepted by the NAVSEA Contracts Directorate. The Government will respond to questions no later than 30 days after Industry Day. Please note that Industry participation is voluntary and the Government will not reimburse respondents or attendees for any efforts expended as a result of or in response to this notice. No specific acquisition strategy or contractual plans will be addressed during Industry Day.
