Description
The United States Army Contracting Command, Joint Munitions and Lethality Contracting Center, on behalf of the U.S. Army Armament Research, Development, and Engineering Center (ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ is requesting information from domestic and foreign industries that may have a functional, mature Lead Selenide (PbSe) sensor prototype that is readily available. The PbSe sensor must be able to detect muzzle flash from combat rifles, Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPGs), Anti Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) at the weapons effective ranges. Respondents should provide the following information: Sensor Noise Equivalence Irradiance (NEI), Focal Plane Array (FPA) size, Infrared (IR) bandwidth and resolution, pixel size and separation, field of view, FPA fill factor, D* star, frame rate (fps), sensor/system cost, FPA cooling type (cryogenically cooled not applicable), detection range, detection latency time. If it is available please provide information if the sensor can identify threats (threat list) and reduce false alarm rate (FAR). Interested sources are requested to provide a capability statement. This includes, but is not limited to company name, address, telephone number, point of contact, company size (please specify as either Large, Foreign, Small, Small Disadvantaged, 8(a), Woman-Owned Small Business, or Service-Disabled Small Business), and applicable Documentation/brochure/literature. Please limit responses to no more than four pages. This market survey is for planning purposes only. This is not a request for proposals and no contract will be awarded as a result of this announcement. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. Interested sources should submit their qualification data and requested information no later than November 24, 2010 by email to philip.j.johnson2@us.army.mil. TELEPHONE INQUIRES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The Government will accept written questions by email.
