- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) from all certified 8(a) sources that can provide engineering services for networking support. Specifically, NSWCCD will require the contractor to provide systems engineering services to perform functional analysis and develop functional, performance, and detailed network and Integrated Bridge Control design specifications for eventual implementation that will include structuring of system functions into a functional specification. The contractor must also provide Hardware Engineering Services in support of network and navigation systems produced for Fleet missions where systems may be deployed to operational Fleet units. This may span from concept exploration through development and troubleshooting. The contractor must also provide software engineering and software support agent services to support developmental efforts, which may necessitate development of prototypes, models and demonstrations. The Contractor will also provide technical services which will range from research to custom development to compliance assistance needed to operate and support all ship-based information technology networks and computer systems and their shore based equivalents. Lastly, the Contractor shall provide performance management products and services to help NSWCCD meet their goals in an effective and efficient manner. The purpose of this announcement is to conduct market research to assess if there is a reasonable expectation of receiving two or more technically acceptable, reasonably priced proposals from 8(a) firms in consideration of issuing a Request for Proposals using competition that is restricted to 8(a) small business concerns. This RFI does not bind the Government to offer contracts to responding companies. The information provided will assist NSWCCD in the development and refinement of a Request for Proposals (RFP) to be issued via NAVSEA ™s SeaPort portal (https://buy.seaport.navy.mil/). Responses Please provide three to five examples of relevant Corporate Experience and Past Performance. NSWCCD requests your response no later than 10 Nov 2010. Email response to Heather Rhoads at heather.rhoads@navy.mil. All questions should be submitted electronically to heather.rhoads@navy.mil. All information provided will be treated as Business Sensitive and will not be shared outside of Government activities and agencies without the permission of the provider. All information shall be provided free of charge to the Government. NSWCCD may request further information regarding the capabilities of respondents to meet the requirement.
