Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Audie L. Murphy Memorial Hospital, San Antonio, TX, VISN 17, intends to negotiate a sole-source contract with XENOGEN Bioscience, now known as (Taconic), to generate a novel Transgenic Animal Model over-expressing p22PHOX in Renal proximal Tubular Epithelial Cells in an inducible manner during the period of November 1, 2010 through October 31, 2011. The contractor shall design, construct and generate transgenic mice in a multi-step process and delivered in phases and will be compensated for their service as progress of the project is made. NAICS code 541711 with a size standard of 500 employees. The period of performance for this procurement will be for 12 months from time of award. Justification for this sole source procurement is in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a) (2) (ii) (A) and (B), only one responsible source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. However, if a firm believes it can meet these requirements it must furnish information about its products and services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and services, to the Contracting Officer within five (5) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement. If no valid responses are received, the South Texas Veterans Health Care System will proceed with the intended sole source contract. Responses must be received no later than 12:00 P.M. CST on 11/03/2010.
