- Notice of Intent to Sole Source 21 Oct 10 Notice Type: Intent to Sole Source Date Posted: 22 Oct 10 Office Address: U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity ATTN: MCMR-AAA-B 3100 Ricketts Point Road Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21010-5400 Tel: 410-417-2604 DSN: 584-2604FAX: 410-436-4863 EMAIL: Jacklyn.McGurk@amedd.army.mil Contact Person: Jackie McGurk, Contract Specialist; email: Jacklyn.McGurk@amedd.army.mil Subject: Intent to Sole Source Classification: None Solicitation #: To Be Determined (TBD) Set Aside: n/a NOTICE TEXT: The United States Army Medical Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, IAW FAR 13.501(1)(ii) under the authority of the test program for commercial items (section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996), with Warner Instruments LLC, 1125 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, CT 06514, as the only responsible source that can provide the customized services needed to fulfill this acquisition. The requirement is a customized Ussing Chamber System which must fit 6.5mm Transwell inserts. It must allow both electrophysiological and diffusion-based measurements and must employ a heat block system to maintain stable physiological temperature. Must comprise two sets of six chambers, with two six-channel voltage/current clamp amplifiers for sampling from multiple specimens in parallel. Need a data acquisition package that has been designed to work with the specific hardware. All these pieces must comprise a complete and functional system with components that were designed to work together. Data acquisition package must allow activation/deactivation of individual clamp units, and display current, voltage, conductance, resistance, and calculated open circuit voltage during data acquisition. It must allow importation of extracted data to commercial graphics packages. The part numbers used for this customized system are 691072, 691083, 691097, 690991, 691096, 690938, and 693145. All capability statements received by closing of this notification of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Based on the above information, the only technically acceptable system is provided by Warner Instruments.
