Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Medical Center, Tacoma, WA is seeking sources to provide Transitional Accommodations / Boarding Home Facility Beds. This service is for Veterans enrolled in the Outpatient Medical and Mental Health Clinics at the VA Medical Center Seattle, WA. A boarding home is defined in correlation with the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) Title 18 Businesses and Professions, Chapter 18.20 as any home or other institution, however named, which is advertised, announced, or maintained for the express or implied purpose of providing housing, basic services, and assuming general responsibility for the safety and well-being of the residents, and may also provide domiciliary care. The facility shall be licensed or approved as a boarding home facility by the State of Washington and must comply with city, state and federal regulations. The facility shall provide lodging on a weekly basis without restriction on length of stay; for Mental Health Service, three beds shall be reserved on a block payment agreement, paid for full or empty; and for Social Work Service, seven beds shall be reserved on a block payment agreement, paid for full or empty. In addition, the facility shall provide: 1) 24-hour staffing, housekeeping services; 2) room and board to include three meals a day; 3) furnished rooms with separate bathrooms; 4) nutritionally adequate and acceptable meals and dining rooms; 5) laundry facilities for residents to do their own laundry or a facility to perform laundry without an additional charge; 6) monitoring and screening to ensure that each VA client is medically stable and medication management to be included if required for client. All responses will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
