- Please note that this is NOT a request for SF330's qualification packages or proposals. The VA Medical Center Lexington, Kentucky, Cooper Drive division is looking for Architect/Engineer (AE) firms CVE certified (or AE firms that have submitted the appropriate information to gain CVE certification in Vet Biz) in the following categories: (1) Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), (2) Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB), for design of construction project 'Replace Air Handling Units 1 & 2'. Construction project will maximize system efficiency and other technologies to reduce energy and maintenance costs while minimizing life cycle costs. The AE firm must be approved under Engineering Services (NAICS 541330) and capable of preparing design documentation including, but not limited to: site investigations, master plans, schematic design documents, and design development documents. Prime contractor should have licensed/registered Mechanical Engineers as members of the firm with experience in renovating hospital projects. The following additional licensed/registered specialty disciplines should be members of the firm, or team with demonstrable expertise in their respective fields: Cost Estimator, Electrical and Plumbing Engineers, and Architect. The contract will include a government option for: construction document preparation; construction period services, and site visits. In addition to design capabilities, estimating capabilities of the applicants will be considered. The selected firm shall design to the government's estimated cost for construction. If your firm can meet the criteria above, provide the following information: 1) SDVOSB or VOSB CVE certification (or documentation showing when CVE information was submitted to Vet Biz) ; 2) short narrative on company to include at a minimum: a) number of staff on company payroll, b) number of years in AE business, c) short narrative on company teaming/partnering approach, d) short narrative on how AE plans to accommodate site visits.; 3) a detailed description (including size, scope and dollar value) of the firm's experience in designing projects of a similar size, 4) name and address of your firm, 5) DUNS Number, and 6) name and phone number of a point of contact in case further information is needed. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked as proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this Sources Sought Announcement.
