- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey, Columbia River Research Laboratory has a requirement for major modifications to the USGS Research Vessel (R/V) Sentinel, a 28 foot aluminum boat. The modifications will include installation of a hydrologic pump, tank and associated piping, construction of an A Frame to mount in existing pad eyes at transcom, modify transcom in accordance with USGS supplied drawings, design and construct mounts for, and installation of two trawl winches and associated controls and piping. Trawl winches to be provided by USGS. Drawings will be provided. R/V Sentinel is currently located at Camas, WA Marina, near Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR. As there is no means to transport the R/V Sentinel, other than on the river, it is the intention the USGS to make award to any vendor along the Columbia River, or it's tributaries, who can perform the identified task, or can perform the work at the R/V Sentinel's current location. The Government intends to award this requirement in accordance with FAR Part 13, entitled, "Simplified Acquisition Procedures" and FAR Part 12, entitled, "Acquisition of Commercial Items." Request for Quote 11WRQQ007 will be made available through the Government-wide Point of Entry (GPE) on or about 26 October 2010, IAW Far 5.102(a)(1). All interested parties must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database at www.ccr.gov and current in Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) to be considered for award.
