- Description
- The PEO, Combat Support & Combat Service Support; Product Director (PD), Test, Measurement & Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE); Test Equipment Modernization (TEMOD) program is responsible for the acquisition and fielding of state-of-the-art, commercial/non-developmental General Purpose Electronic Test Equipment (GPETE). New equipment is used to standardize the inventory and replace existing obsolete test equipment. Market research is being conducted for the new ME-572 ( )/U Ammeter project to verify if industry has, or intends to have in the near future, a single instrument that is commercial off-the-shelf and can replace the obsolete ME-563( )/U Ammeter. The replacement instrument shall provide industry standard capabilities to meet and/or exceed the current instrument capabilities. A draft purchase description has been developed for the ME-572( )/U Ammeter. The ME-572( )/U shall be a battery operated, digital Alternating Current (AC)/Direct current (DC) snap-around Volt-Ohm Ammeter. The ME-572 ( )/U is used to measure AC/ DC current without interrupting the measured circuit and AC/DC voltage. The ME-572( )/U is used for making electrical measurements from communications and weapons systems. Vendors responses to market research questionnaires will assist the Government in finalizing the performance specification by providing information about the technical capabilities of available commercial/non-developmental ME-572( )/U. The Government will also host a TEMOD Product Working Group (TPWG) meeting with industry on a one-on-one basis for data exchanges. In order to participate in the TPWG, vendors must complete and return the market research questionnaires to the TEMOD office. No decisions have been made at this time as to the type of procurement, i.e., full and open competition versus small business set-aside, nor quantities or award date. Interested vendors may request the draft performance specification and market research questionnaires by contacting Alisha King, AMCOM Contracting Command; 256-955-6155, e-mail Alisha.R. King@us.army.mil, or fax 256-842-7684 with copy furnished to Mr. Paul E. Hicks; PD, TMDE TEMOD; 256-313-2939, FAX 256-313-2940, or e-mail paul.hicks2@us.army.mil. The market research questionnaires shall be completed and submitted via the AMCOM Contracting Command to Mr. Paul E. Hicks no later than November 12, 2010.
