- Description
- The Chemical Technology Team, Warfighter Science, Technology and Research Directorate at the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development, and Engineering Center (NSRDEC), have a need for contractors to conduct aerosol testing and research related to aerosol protection with chemical/biological protective ensembles and materials. There are currently at least three on-going research projects at NSRDEC working on developing CB ensembles to provide protection from aerosol threats. These programs may require Aerosol System Testing as described in Test Operations Procedure (TOP 10-2-022): Chemical Vapor and Aerosol System Level Testing of Chemical/Biological Protective Suits. (Copies of TOP 10-2-022 are available through the website for the US Army Developmental Test Command; http://www.dtc.army.mil.) These programs may also require aerosol testing of swatches and component-level testing, as well as research and development of new test methodologies for evaluating aerosol protection of CB ensembles. The NSRDEC is also interested in research and development of materials to provide protection from aerosols and other CB threats. The government is conducting this market investigation to acquire information on the types and sizes of businesses that will be able to compete on future contracting actions, potential costs, as well as delivery capabilities. Interested firms are requested to submit relevant information on their company within fifteen (15) days following the publication of this RFI. Any relevant company background/experience, business category, costs, and any other information that the company believes demonstrates their value / ability to meet the aforementioned requirements should be included. Respondents shall also complete a separate questionnaire contained in the cover sheet at the end of this document and submit it with their response. This RFI is solely for information purposes and does not constitute a solicitation or the issuance thereof. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to this RFI are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Any information submitted will not be returned, and no payment will be made by the government for such information.
