- Interindustry Economic Research Fund, Inc. (Inforum) will provide the following consulting services to the CMS Office of the Actuary: (1) Subscription to the 2085 Long-Term Inter-industry Forecasting Tool (LIFT 2085) from September 2010 to September 2012. (2) Convert the LIFT production sector detail from the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) system to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). (3) Provide support to the Office of the Actuary (OACT), in 2011 and 2012, for the 10-year NHE projections. (4) Provide a 10-year forecast of annual economy-wide private nonfarm business multi-factor productivity, and report on a long-range projection of this series consistent with LIFT 2085. (5) Expand direct OACT access to INFORUM databases and modeling tools. (6) Provide technical support to OACT in connection with a technical panel to be convened by the Secretary of Health and Human Services in late 2010 regarding long-range projection of health expenditures for the Medicare program and other parts of the U.S. health sector. (7) Provide ongoing support to the Office of the Actuary in development of 75year economic projections of the U.S. health sector and the economy for the annual report of the Medicare Trustees, and in particular, assist OACT in understanding the long-range economic implications of recently enacted health reform legislation, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).
