Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Construction Management intends to solicit on a sole source basis for a Ruskin Company, the EME12D double vertical louver system. This is not a solicitation. This is market research for informational purposes only. Do not submit bids or proposals for this system. The government is seeking any manufacturer or company who can provide an "equal" or better product. The louver shall have proven compliance with a passing rating on the Wind-Driven Rain Test of Miami-Dade Building Code Checklist #0240 with less than 0.05% of water infiltration, based on a total volume of not less than 553,750 milliliters and no observable louver displacement. Performance test shall be conducted in accordance with the Florida Building Code (High-Velocity Hurricane Zones) Test Application Standard TAS 100(A)-95: Test procedure for wind and wind-driven rain resistance and/or increased windspeed resistance of soffit ventilation strip and continuous or intermittent ventilation system installed at ridge area. Test shall be conducted by an independent Miami-Dade accredited testing firm. Tested louver shall have the functional characteristics of the EME12D, shall be 47-5/8" wide x 47-5/8" tall x 12" deep, and shall be constructed with 0.0125" extruded aluminum frame and 0.091" extruded aluminum blades with a clear anodized finish. Firm shall be capable of delivering approximately 30 - 60 such louvers of similar size within 14 weeks of receipt of order.
