Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. North Atlantic Regional Contracting Office (NARCO) intends to competitively award a commercial Personal Services contract, for a Biomedical Engineer (.10 FTE) and a Physical Therapist (1.15 FTE) to support the Army Advanced Medical Technology Initiative at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington DC. The solicitation is unrestricted. NAICS Code: 621340. This requirement for a Biomedical Engineer and a Physical Therapist includes, but is not limited to the following: Biomedical Engineer: conduct amputee patient biomechanical gait lab assessments and analysis IA W established protocols, conduct statistical analysis on outcome measures collected from the gait Assessments perform all duties with minimum supervision or guidance, Interact effectively with patients and health care professionals to improve the quality of health care. Physical Therapist: The contract service provider shall maintain credentials as required to evaluate and treat adult patients conduct amputee patient training and assist with biomechanical gait lab assessments IAW established protocols, shall participate in all Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment (CAREN) treatment sessions for protocol participants. All offerors must be registered in Central Contractor Registration database, www.ccr.gov. Estimated start date is on or about 01 Oct 2010. RELEASE of solicitation, W91YTZ-10-R-0061, is scheduled on or about 20 September 2010. Inquiries about solicitation will not be responded to until the solicitation has been released.
