- Description
- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 01 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FORTRANSPORTATION OF LAS PATHFINDER. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in theirquote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a writtenamendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to respond to questions.Q1. Will the contractor need to supply Cargo Insurance for trailer and Pathfinder?A1. No insurance will be requested.Q2. Does the driver have to be the same person on every leg?A2. No, it does not have to be the same driver as long as they meet the requirement ofnever leaving the LAS PF unattended.Q3. Time frames, first leg pick up and delivery on Monday, can this be picked up onSaturday?A3. We can arrange for a Saturday pickup in New Mexico. We will need to be given a fewdays notice to make sure we have the right people to support this.Q4. Denver to IL same question on time frame A4. That should not be a problem. Again, advanced coordination will help significantly. I'm assuming at this point, it is a transfer from driver to driver since the unit mustnever be left unattended by the driver.Q5. What will the actual size of the load be going down the road? can the oversized partsbe dismantled to keep from having to get permits ?A5. ) The LAS PF Trailer is a standard 53 long single-drop deck trailer w/ a standard5th wheel. It is a Tow-Away and also that it is an Oversize Load (11 wide). Thetrailer is oversized and thus cannot be reduced.Q6. if permits are required, who will be responsible for them ?A6. Trucking company is responsible for all permitsQ7. on the layovers at drop off locations will the driver still need to stay with theload A7. Yes. This is the baseline. There may be some flexibility when the LAS PF is beingwatched by the NASA/LM POC. That will have to be coordinated real time. However, theexpectation is the driver will stay with the LAS PF at all times. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended.Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASAAcquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on 09/16/2010.
