Description
Contracting Office Address Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute, Office of Acquisitions, 6120 Executive Boulevard, EPS Suite 600, Room 6072, Rockville, MD 20852, UNITED STATES. Description The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Division of Cancer Epidemiology & Genetics (DCEG), plans to procure services to perform CGH on whole-genome arrays (minimum density 1M) to identify copy number changes that are associated with disease in cancer-prone patients and/or cancer-prone families. This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 12 - Acquisition for Commercial Items and will be made pursuant to the authority in FAR Part 13.106(b)(2) and 13.501-(a)(1) using simplified acquisition procedures for commercial acquisitions. The North American Industry Classification System code is 541690 and the business size standard is $7.0M. Only one award will be made as a result of this pre-solicitation. Period of performance shall be for twelve months from date of award. The contractor shall perform CGH on whole-genome arrays (minimum density 1M) to identify copy number changes that are associated with disease in cancer-prone patients and/or cancer-prone families. Specifically, genomic DNA from blood samples of 280 subjects will be analyzed for arrayCGH to identify disease-related CNVs. Second, tumor and non-tumor DNA derived primarily from formalin-fixed or alcohol-fixed paraffin embedded tissue from 500 subjects will also be analyzed for arrayCGH to identify CNVs associated with carcinogenesis. Potential offerors must show demonstrated experience performing CGH on whole-genome arrays with a minimum density of 1M using DNA derived from human blood, frozen tumor, and formalin-fixed paraffin embedded tissue. Potential offerors must have successfully completed CGH for a minimum of 10,000 whole-genome arrays in human samples. Offerors must have a method for analysis of formalin-fixed paraffin embedded tissue that directly labels the DNA and avoids issues related to degradation and cross-linking. Findings from this study may help identify cancer gene variants in various types of cancer-prone patients or cancer-prone families and may provide new leads for understanding the causes of cancer in these different tumors, patients, and families. Potential offerors may request a copy of the solicitation from Melissa Marino, Contract Specialist via electronic mail at marinome@mail.nih.gov or fax (301) 402-4513. If you have questions regarding this notice, they may be addressed to the aforementioned individual noted above. When submitting your request please include complete mailing address, DUNS number, point of contact name, email, phone and fax number. Estimated issued date of the solicitation is September 20, 2010 with an estimated due date of September 27, 2010. No collect calls will be accepted. In order to receive an award, contractors must be registered and have valid certification in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and the Online Representations and Certifications Applications (ORCA). Reference: RFQ-NCI-100245-MM on all correspondence.
